Ed Hyp went to the University of Pittsburgh for Math. He works as an engineer doing inspections and foreign object retrieval in nuclear power plants. Careful, curious, it is his fascination with details and precision that guides his approach in both design and cooking. Although always interested in cooking and food, discovering Ferran Adria in 2008 changed it into an obsession. His tendency towards precision and accuracy leads him to search for perfection in food, and seeking out any tool to accomplish this. After building his first circulator, he was hooked. He wants to take the mysticism out of these culinary tools and show people that just because they are rooted in science, they can also be a valuable part of every kitchen.
